Learnings from TD

Over my four-month internship at Toronto-Dominion Bank, I spearheaded two fintech projects while learning a lot about retirement, the future of gig work, and payment service providers.
Two mockups of two different apps. One is a mobile dashboard depicting retirement goals and gig worker income streams. The other is a results page showing the best retirement strategy for someone, along with TD product suggestions.

Overview

From September to December 2023, I joined TD as part of the Saving and Investing Journey (SIJ) team. At the time, SIJ had just begun exploring ways to revamp TD’s retirement calculator to make it more user-friendly.

In line with TD’s goal of becoming The Better Bank, the team pushed beyond a simple redesign to reimagine how Canadians think about retirement. This became Project 1, a Retirement Personality Quiz that helps users approach retirement planning through their own preferences, strengths, and weaknesses.

At the same time, I assisted SIJ in researching payment service providers (intermediaries between banks and customers) and “everything apps” in India. These themes inspired Project 2, where I explored how a one-stop platform for gig worker needs could look.

🔐 Heads up! These projects are password protected.

Due to confidentiality, I am not able to freely showcase my work.
